Hotels need permission to hold real estate auctions

Saudi Gazette report

JEDDAH – The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) has conveyed to all Jeddah hotels and owners of residential units to desist from holding real estate auctions without permit.

The owners should not allow customers to hold real estate auctions on their premises unless a permit to this effect has been obtained from the Jeddah governorate, according to Muhammad Al-Amri, SCTA executive director in Makkah province.

Jeddah Governor Prince Mishaal Bin Majed recently issued these instructions, Al-Amri said. He warned violators against penalties, adding that the new instructions will protect the rights of citizens because such instructions ensure that all auctions are held according to proper regulations.

Proper permits should be obtained from the Makkah Emirate and other pertinent authorities in the governorate, he noted.

All hotels and owners of residential units in the governorate have been notified accordingly.
